Well, to be honest, I think it's the lazy man's way. When I tried it, I was being lazy. All it did was hinder me from achieving proper results because I was relying on it. Plus, when you look at a properly exposed photograph and an hdr, there is no comparison. :)

I'll never look back. ;)

That is a very good point. I guess that's why you don't see that technique in professional media. Well, most media.
